Vellum Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Vellum — the Discord bot, web dashboard, and related services at vellumbot.xyz — operated from Norway ("we", "us"). By adding Vellum to a server or using the dashboard, you agree to these terms.

Vellum is an independent third-party tool. It is not made by, endorsed by, or affiliated with Police Roleplay Community (PRC), Roblox, or Discord. Using Vellum never exempts you from their rules.

1. The service

Vellum provides community-management features for Discord servers and ER:LC private servers: moderation records, shifts, live panels and maps, automations, verification, and related tools. We may add, change, or retire features as the product evolves; if a change materially reduces what you rely on, we'll announce it in advance where reasonably possible.

2. Who can use it

You must meet Discord's minimum age (13+, or higher where local law requires) and comply with the Discord Terms, Roblox Terms, and — for ER:LC features — PRC's community guidelines and API rules.

3. Your server, your key, your responsibility

• Only link an ER:LC server-key you own or are explicitly authorized to use. Linking it grants Vellum permission to read that server's data and run commands on it on your behalf, until you unlink it or regenerate the key.
• Server owners and admins are responsible for how their staff use Vellum's tools (moderation actions, in-game commands, automations run with your server's authority).
• You're responsible for telling your community what tools you use, where your local rules require it.

4. Acceptable use — the hard lines

Using Vellum to do any of the following gets your access suspended or permanently removed, and may be reported upstream:

• Nuking, raiding, or sabotaging Discord or ER:LC servers;
• Harassment, threats, impersonation (including impersonating PRC or Vellum staff), or spreading disinformation;
• Spam — against users, servers, or the underlying APIs;
• Attempting to bypass rate limits, exploit the service, probe our infrastructure, or access data belonging to other servers or users;
• Automating actions you do not have permission to do manually (Vellum enforces this; trying to defeat it is a violation);
• Anything that violates Discord's, Roblox's, or PRC's rules, or applicable law.

We may suspend or terminate access for violations, with notice where practicable. You can stop using Vellum at any time by removing the bot — your data is then handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

Reporting abuse

If you believe content Vellum posted or an action it took on a server is illegal or breaks these terms, email abuse@vellumbot.xyz with a link, the server, and what's wrong. We review every report and, where a violation is clear, act expeditiously — typically removing the content, disabling the responsible configuration, or suspending the server. Suspension and removal are at our discretion under this section.

Content Vellum posts is configured by your server, not authored by us

Messages, embeds, commands, and automations Vellum sends are created and triggered by a server's owner, staff, or members through settings they control. Those people — not Vellum — are responsible for that content. We are a neutral tool that posts it on their instruction.

5. Pricing

Vellum's features are free. We may offer an optional paid tier that raises usage limits and adds cosmetics, sold as a one-time purchase per server. If you buy it:

• Prices and what's included are shown at purchase. Purchases are tied to a server, not a user.
• EU/EEA withdrawal right: you have 14 days to withdraw; by activating the purchase immediately you consent to immediate performance, and the withdrawal right lapses once fully delivered — we'll still refund within 14 days of purchase if you ask and haven't meaningfully used the limits.
• If Vellum permanently shuts down within 12 months of your purchase, we'll refund a fair pro-rated amount. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.

6. Availability — honest expectations

We build for reliability and publish our status openly, but Vellum is provided "as is", without warranties of uninterrupted availability. We depend on Discord, Roblox, PRC's API, and network providers; when an upstream fails, Vellum may show stale data (and will say so rather than pretend). There is no SLA on the free tier.

7. Your content & our property

Settings, flows, forms, and records you create remain yours; you grant us the license needed to store and process them to run the service, and you can export them at any time. The Vellum software, brand, name, and design are ours; don't copy, resell, or misrepresent them, and don't present Vellum as your own or as an official PRC product.

AI assistance. Where Vellum helps draft an automation from a prompt, the output is a draft suggestion. You are responsible for reviewing it and choosing to publish it; nothing AI-drafted goes live until you publish it. You are responsible for published content as if you had written it yourself.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law: we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (lost "in-game" assets, lost community members, downtime of your roleplay sessions, actions your own staff take with Vellum's tools). For paid purchases, our total liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited (e.g. gross negligence, or your statutory consumer rights).

Your indemnity. You will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims, losses, and costs arising from (a) content you, your staff, or your members configure Vellum to post or actions you have it take, (b) your use of an ER:LC server-key you weren't authorized to use, or (c) your breach of these terms or violation of another's rights or applicable law. We'll notify you of any such claim and let you control the defense, provided you don't settle in a way that admits fault on our behalf.

9. Law & disputes

These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes go to the courts of Norway — though if you're a consumer in the EU/EEA, you keep any right to use your local courts and dispute bodies (in Norway: Forbrukertilsynet / the EU ODR platform).

10. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in our Discord and on the dashboard at least 14 days before taking effect. Continuing to use Vellum after that means you accept the updated terms.
